2024 Juried Exhibition
Accepting Submissions!
The 2024 Juried Exhibition will run from May 8-25, with an opening reception and announcement of awards on May 10, 5-7pm. Submissions open Monday, April 1, and will be accepted through Monday, April 22. Artists may upload 1-5 images of up to 2 works (no more than 2 submissions per artist will be considered).
Submissions must include artists' full name, preferred contact information, and dimensions/titles for each submission. Submissions for up to 2 works are $20/non-members and $15/members (one time fee covers up to 2 works per artist). Please pay for your submission below; then, fill-out the submission form, also below:
Immerse yourself in the moment while learning improv skills and games in an encouraging group setting. This course intends to be a fun and lively way to get to know yourself and others, while co-creating scenarios. Anything is possible. Act it out!
Esther Marcella Hoffmann is a Teaching Artist at Aktion Club Theatre of Mankato, where she facilitates improv and writing experiences. A Playwright and performance artist, Esther has created and taught improv courses for acting troupes of all ages, but mostly as a drama club coach or guest Teaching Artist for Middle Schools. She is excited to design and host Improv for Fun at the Carnegie! No experience or registration necessary! Free to attend and all are welcome, with donations encouraged.

Curator Liz Draper has played with everyone from Sub-Pop's Grammy nominated slow-core band Low to the Balkan folk group Orkestar Bez Ime, Pieta Brown, Grammy Award-winning Okee Dokee Brothers, and Smithsonian recording artist folk troubadour Charlie Parr. Liz is a 2021 American Composers Forum awardee for her solo work and is currently touring with 2 time Grammy nominated songwriter Iris Dement.

The Carnegie Art Center is hosting its first fundraising event, a vibrant Pop Art themed brunch, including delectable food, artful themed drinks, live art demonstrations, and musical performances to engage the community with our local art scene. All funds raised will help support bringing art to our community.
What to expect:

Show Your Work
The Carnegie Art Center will accept proposals for future exhibitions on a rolling basis. Applications for the 2025 calendar year will be reviewed in Spring/Summer 2024. In addition to local and regional artists, we are particularly interested in proposals from artists who represent a variety of ethnicities, cultural perspectives, and alternative communities.
